An Historic Spring Equinox

Spring

This is a springtime like we’ve never seen before.

First of all, the Vernal Equinox which is happening today, March 19th at 11:49 p.m. EDT, is the earliest it has occurred in 124 years. In other words, spring is arriving earlier than it has in more than a century. Usually, the arrival of spring is a glorious event However, this year ii is arriving only to find the entire globe in the midst of an historic pandemic.

Social Distancing

Yes, the entire globe is being affected by an invisible virus that is spreading faster than a bit of juicy gossip in a small town. It has given rise to the phrase, “social distancing” which we humans are not so good at. We like to go out and mingle and talk and socialize. It’s in our DNA. But, in order to halt the spread of this deadly virus, we have been asked to stay home and only go out when necessary to get food or go to the doctor.

Hopefully the arrival of warmer Spring days will help to diminish spread of this virus. And the weather always helps lift spirits for those who live in colder climates. At least those of us who live in a warmer climate can be out of doors and relish the fresh air.

Remain Positive

It is my hope that despite the circumstances, that you do not succumb to the fear. That you can remain cheerful and optimistic as you take care of yourself and your loved ones. If we all take responsibility and stay close to home, we may be delightfully back to a sense of normalcy before the end of this spring season.
